🧑‍🏫Why I’m Doing This

Hi, I’m Jonathan Gloss, and I created Senior AI Tech for one simple reason: my 80-year-old mother kept asking me about AI.
Not just once, but over and over again.

I started to give her the same technical explanation I’d given before, but then I stopped. I realized I wasn’t really answering her question. She didn’t want to know how AI worked – she wanted to know how it could help her, whether it was safe, and if someone her age could actually use it without feeling stupid or overwhelmed. What does all this mean? How does it work? And how can I actually use it?

That conversation changed everything. I realized there was a huge gap between the AI revolution happening around us and the people who could benefit most from it but felt most left behind by it. So, I decided to teach.

👤 Who I Am – Jonathan Gloss

I’ve been working within the logistics industry, leveraging self taught technology for over four decades. I’ve spent years working remotely, building one of the largest logisics companies in the US, product builder, systems architeture, AI exployer, and watching technology evolve from something complicated that only experts could use to something that should be accessible to everyone.

But here’s what matters more than my technical background: I’m someone who believes that the best technology is invisible – it just helps you live better without getting in your way.

I’ve always been drawn to the human side of technology. How do we make it serve people instead of intimidating them? How do we bridge the gap between what’s possible and what’s practical for real people living real lives? But more than that: I’m a son, a teacher, a creator, entreprenuear, a listener, and someone who believes technology should serve people — not the other way around.

🔥 A Personal Note from Jonathan

My beliefs are very diverse, i’m deeply relgious and extremly estoteric. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve asked those big questions:
Who are we? Where did we come from? Where are we going?
I don’t have all the answers yet — I’m still searching — but one thing I do know is this:

I know technology.
I know how to teach it with kindness, patience, and from a place of heart.
And I believe that’s exactly what’s needed right now!

You may be wondering how I ended up here, teaching AI on Amelia Island… and why I walk with a prosthetic.
I wasn’t in the military (though I deeply respect and thank every person who has served).
My path is different.

I’m a survivor of over 20 years of intense physical and mental abuse.
I’ve lived through trauma, loss, and isolation that almost broke me — but didn’t.

Instead, I rose.
And today, I use the lessons I’ve learned to help others rise too.

That’s why I’m doing this.
Because we’re all searching for something — and sometimes, learning one new thing opens the door to healing, purpose, and connection.

🧠 The Problem I Kept Seeing

Through my years in tech and working remotely, I noticed something troubling. Every new technological advancement seemed to create a wider gap between those who “got it” immediately and those who felt left behind. And unfortunately, age often determined which side of that gap people fell on.

I watched brilliant, experienced people – people with decades of wisdom and knowledge – get shut out of tools that could genuinely improve their lives simply because no one took the time to explain these tools in terms that made sense to them.

Meanwhile, I was working from home, successful in my field, but missing something essential: meaningful human connection and the chance to make a real difference in individual people’s lives.

💡 The Lightbulb Moment

After that conversation with my mother, I started paying attention to how other seniors in my life talked about AI. My neighbors, family friends, people I met in the community while volunteering at Barnabas Center, Micah’s Place – the Purple Drove store– they all had the same mixture of curiosity and concern.

They’d heard AI could help with everything from health questions to staying connected with family, but they felt like it was designed for younger people who grew up with technology. They worried about privacy, about looking foolish, about making mistakes.

But when I took time to really explain AI in plain language, to show them how it could specifically help with their specific concerns, something beautiful happened. Their fear turned into curiosity. Their skepticism turned into cautious optimism. And eventually, their hesitation turned into genuine excitement about what was possible.

🌍 Why This Matters Right Now

We’re at a unique moment in history. AI technology has reached a point where it’s truly useful for everyday life, but it’s still new enough that we can shape how it gets adopted and who gets left behind.

I realized I had a choice: I could continue working in isolation, building things for people who already understood technology, or I could use my knowledge to help bridge this gap for the people who needed it most.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized that seniors aren’t just potential AI users – they’re the ideal AI users. They have the life experience to ask meaningful questions, the wisdom to use powerful tools responsibly, and the time to explore what’s possible without being rushed by work deadlines or family chaos.

🧰 What I Bring to the Table

Tech fluency, human-first teaching

I understand how AI works, but more importantly, I understand how to explain it in ways that make sense to people who didn’t grow up with computers.

❤️ Patience rooted in love

Teaching my mother and her friends taught me that the pace of learning matters more than the speed of technology. Everyone deserves to learn at their own speed without feeling rushed or judged.

🔍 Focus on practical help

I’m not interested in impressing people with technical complexity. I’m interested in helping people solve actual problems and enhance their actual lives.

🙏 Deep respect for wisdom

I’ve learned that the best AI interactions happen when human wisdom guides artificial intelligence, not the other way around. Seniors have that wisdom in abundance.

📣 My Personal Mission

I’m building this because I want to live in a world where age doesn’t determine access to tools that can improve life. I want my mother, and everyone like her, to feel confident and empowered in an AI-enhanced world.

But I’m also doing this for selfish reasons: Not for money, but I’m doing this for deeply personal reasons. After years of remote work and surviving over two decades of extreme psychological and physical abuse, I found myself shattered—mind, body, and spirit. I lost nearly everything, including a part of my body, and was left alone to rebuild from the ashes. The isolation, the silence, and the long road back nearly broke me. But what pulled me out wasn’t just healing—it was purpose. I realized that what I truly missed was the connection, the light in someone’s eyes when they feel seen, understood, and empowered. Teaching AI to people who’ve been overlooked or left behind isn’t just a service—it’s my way of turning years of pain into something that helps others rise.

“Out of my pain came purpose, and through teaching AI, I’ve found a way to turn isolation into connection, fear into empowerment, and silence into shared understanding.”

🔄 The Ripple Effect

When I teach one person, they show three others.
This isn’t just a class. It’s a movement of dignity, curiosity, and inclusion.

Every person I teach becomes a teacher themselves. They show their friends, help their spouses, guide their grandchildren toward more thoughtful AI use. They become advocates for inclusive technology and examples of what’s possible when we refuse to accept that age is a barrier to learning.

This isn’t just about individual empowerment – it’s about changing how our society thinks about aging, learning, and who gets to participate in technological progress.

🧓👵 Why This Is For You

AI is still new enough that we’re all learning together. Seniors starting today aren’t “catching up” – they’re joining the journey at the perfect moment to influence where it goes next.

The AI tools available now are more user-friendly, more conversational, and more intuitive than any technology that’s come before. If you can have a conversation, you can use AI. And who better to have meaningful conversations than people with decades of experience in communication, relationship-building, and thoughtful decision-making?

🔭 Looking Ahead:

I won’t be teaching forever. That’s why I’m creating resources and training others to continue this work long after I’m gone — so every generation has a path forward.
💬 Final Thought:

If you’ve ever felt left behind by tech, or wondered if you could catch up — you can.
And I’ll be here to help you every step of the way.
❤️ “It is not the head which is necessary to advance in Truth: it is the heart.”

If you’re reading this and wondering whether you’re too old, too set in your ways, or too far behind to learn about AI, let me be clear: you’re exactly who this is for.

“I’m not just teaching people to use AI – I’m helping to ensure that the AI revolution includes everyone and serves everyone. Because a technology that only works for some of us isn’t really working at all.”
